How does the page make a password?
Your browser gives secure random numbers. The page uses them to pick each character. Each character has the same chance. The page does not use any other source of random numbers.
How long must a password be?
Use at least 16 characters. A longer password is stronger. Use a different password for each account. A password manager can keep them for you.
What do the strength labels mean?
The label comes from the number of bits. Below 40 bits is Weak. From 40 to 59 bits is Fair. From 60 to 79 bits is Strong. From 80 bits is Very strong.
What are look-alike characters?
They are characters that look the same in some fonts, such as 0 and O, or 1, l and I. Turn the option on if you must read the password and type it by hand.
Does my password go to a server?
